Applied Project
An Applied Project is independent research completed under the guidance of a CWS instructor. It can involve working on a project related to a school or work or one provided by a CWS instructor. Any participant, including those enrolled in CWS’s Professional Certificate Program, are eligible to add on credits each term to work on their project, which may or may not be related to a CWS course they are enrolled in.
Before registering, please reach out to CWS (info@centerforwildlifestudies.org) to discuss your needs. CWS instructors will work with you to determine the appropriate number of credits each term to carry out your project.
Examples of projects include but are not limited to:
Analyzing existing data to answer a research question or test hypotheses, which can be part of a larger funded research project for school or work.
Designing a study of your own where you collect and analyze original data.
Reviewing a topic of interest such as the effectiveness of a field method, policy, or law.
Writing conservation or management plans, impact statements, etc.
Designing educational materials.
