Michelle is a policy analyst and consultation biologist working as a contractor with Saltwater Inc in support of the West Coast Region NOAA Fisheries, Protected Resource Division (PRD). She is primarily interested in the nexus between policy and natural resource management. Michelle has participated in and published research on community forestry in Nepal, community-based subsistence fishing areas (CBSFAs) in Hawai’i, and policy development for forest bioenergy in the United States. She recently completed her Ph.D. at the University of Colorado Boulder in Political Science, holds a M.S. and B.S. from the University of Idaho in Natural Resource Management, and an A.A.S. in Wildlife Resource Management from Hocking College.
