Marcia Brown

Marcia has worked for FOS for more than 20 years and has extensive experience helping conservation teams apply the Conservation Standards to increase the effectiveness of their projects and programs. Specifically, she has facilitated the development of strategic plans and monitoring plans, “Pause and Reflect” processes to assess what is and is not working, and the design and implementation of external evaluations. She has also taught graduate-level courses on the Conservation Standards at several universities (U of Maryland, Virginia Tech, Smithsonian-Mason, Duke, and others) and taught courses specifically on how to facilitate or “coach” teams through CS processes. She enjoys helping graduate students and professionals learn practical skills and increase the effectiveness of their work.
