Evert helped establish the Casper Mountain Science School where he served as the first Executive Director. While teaching at both Casper College and the University of Wyoming, Evert won a variety of awards for teaching biology field courses. After finishing his career as Dean of Instruction at Trinidad State College, Evert then semi-retired to teach drone aviation at both Trinidad and Pueblo Community College in Colorado.
Evert's interest in drones developed from the desire to implement unmanned aircraft into his Field Ecology and Wildlife Management courses. Evert is a Certified Wildlife Biologist®, Certified Instructor for the Unmanned Safety Institute, and a FAA DronePro and Safety Team Representative. Evert is particularly interested in integrating drones into college curriculum and especially ecological and wildlife research.
